Upgrade Process

Step 1 – Application

• Submit your application.
• Provide a copy of your training and assessment qualifications.
• Pay the $249 application fee.

Step 2 – Confirmation and Learning Plan

• Our team will verify your credentials and review your Units of Competency.
• We will recommend a Learning Plan and provide the final pricing details.

Step 3 – Participate in Your Studies

• Your Learning Plan will outline the Units of Competency you need to complete.
• Most upgrade applicants follow a blended learning approach, including:
  • Online Learning
  • RPL Upgrades (Recognition of Prior Learning)
  • Gap Training
  • Credit Transfers

Step 4 – Completion and Certification

• Once you successfully complete all requirements, you will be issued with the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) Upgrade is designed for current trainers and assessors. This qualification ensures you continue delivering high-quality training and assessments in Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), businesses, schools, and community groups.

You will gain expertise in:

Completion times typically range from 3 to 12 months.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the TAE40122 Upgrade, you must:

• Have demonstrated vocational competence in your training area.
• Possess language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
• Have basic computer skills and internet access.
• Hold a previous version of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or relevant TAE skill sets.

• TAEDEL411 - Facilitate vocational training
• TAEDES411 - Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs

Elective Units (Based on your existing qualifications and experience)

• TAEASS512 - Design and develop assessment tools
• TAELLN421 - Integrate core skills support into training and assessment
• TAEDEL311 - Provide work skill instruction
• TAEDEL412 - Facilitate workplace-based learning
• TAEDEL414 - Mentor in the workplace
• BSBTWK401 - Build and maintain business relationships

After completing the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, you may pursue further studies, such as:

• Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
• Graduate Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
